Standardized Test Preparation Recent national studies on standardized examinations indicate that students who are properly coached in specific content, non-routine problem-solving, and test construction can significantly raise their test scores. Over the past 30 years, Transemantics' Academic Preparation Center has handled every conceivable problem related to test preparation. In fact, many of our students' scores have increased by as much as 200 points during the course of a class. Yet, perhaps the best proof of our program's success is the fact that most of our students are referred to us by former students, graduate advisors, and professionals. |

Because individual needs vary, and personal attention is important, we keep our classes small. Our full-group test prep courses are limited to a maximum of 12 students. Instruction in our test preparation courses consists of content lectures, strategy presentations, practice exercises, and item-by-item analysis of answers. Diagnostic pre-tests are given in the first class session. Each student's strengths and weaknesses are evaluated to identify areas for improvement. Post-tests, administered in the last class session, are used as a final measure of gain. GRE and GMAT tests are computer-adaptive. At our center, GRE and GMAT pre-tests and post-tests are always done on computers. Practice exercises may or may not be done on computers, depending on the student. |
| APC offers full-group instruction courses on a variety of days and times per month. In addition, our courses may be taken on a private, semi-private, or mini-group basis. (See Tutorial Instruction.) |
