ILI has helped thousands of students develop the confidence and skills necessary for academic success. Individual instruction is available for students at all academic levels and includes:

• Academic subjects: Math, Statistics, Natural Sciences, Social Studies, Literature, Modern and Ancient Languages, etc.
• Preparation for the following standardized tests: SAT, New SAT, SAT Subject Tests, SSAT, PSAT/NMSQT®, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, TOEFL, PRAXIS, GED, ISEE, and other tests.

Our method is based on the student's learning needs and goals. We begin with an analysis of the student's present state of learning. A profile is developed identifying the student's strengths and weaknesses, including a recommended number of instructional hours.  Tutoring in academic subjects follows the design of the student's school program, so that he or she will show improvement in academic performance after the first few tutorial sessions. In test preparation tutorials, students have increased their scores by as much as 60 percentile points. A tutorial session normally consists of a minimum of two instructional hours of 50 minutes each.

Instruction can take place at the student's workplace, at home or at the Institute.

Private Tutorials:

A private tutorial is the instruction of one student. The instruction can be designed to individual's needs and goals. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Meeting days, times and places can be flexible.

$50 per hour (LSAT $55), books and materials are extra, travel surcharges may apply.

Semi-Private Tutorials:

A semi-private tutorial is the simultaneous instruction of two students by one teacher. Both students need to be on the same level and follow the same curriculum which can be designed to meet the students' needs and goals. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Meeting days, times and places can be flexible.

$32 per hour per student, books and materials are extra, travel surcharges may apply.

Special Group Class:

A special group class consists of three or more students on the same level who are instructed together. Often times, a special group class is arranged and paid for by an organization or an employer and takes place off-site. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Special group classes usually follow a regular schedule.

$26 per student, books and materials are extra, travel surcharges may apply.

Enrollment:

To enroll in any of our tutorial program, you will need to complete an application and pay a $50 application fee. You can apply online by going to our On-line Application page, or you can download and print our Application Form, or come to our school and apply in person. Please indicate your preferred days and times. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to discuss your needs and goals.

Cancellation Policy:

Please be advised that if you need to cancel a tutorial or class, you must do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled time (Friday by noon for any classes scheduled on Saturday, Sunday or Monday) to avoid paying for the tutorial or class.

Travel Surcharges:

Tutorials or classes can be held off-site. There is a $10 travel surcharge per session for classes held inside the beltway and $16 per session for classes outside the beltway.
