Course Schedule:

Classes
will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. for eight
weeks.

To be able to teach communicative lessons to
ESL/ EFL students. |

Program Description: |
Program will include practice in teaching the
four basic language skills (reading, writing, speaking and
listening) and sub skills (vocabulary, pronunciation and
grammar). |

Austin Kaufmann, program coordinator of ILI's
TESOL Certificate Program, brings to this course both
language-teaching theory and practical classroom experience. In
1999, Austin earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary English
Education (with a minor in TESOL) from Goshen College, and in
2006 graduated from American University with a master’s degree
in TESOL. With more than eight years of teaching experience, he
has worked in a variety of educational settings: public and
private, domestic and foreign. He taught both ESL and mainstream
English at the high school level from 1999 to 2004. As a Peace
Corps Volunteer, he worked as an EFL teacher and teacher-trainer
in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan. For the past two
years, he has been teaching ESL at ILI. His
particular areas of interest include teaching writing and
pronunciation. |
